An elevated location which overlooks the Yura coast, selected as one of the “100 sunsets of Japan”. You can watch the sunset from inside the building between early March and mid-October. You can enjoy both the “taste of Shonai”, known as the food capital, and hot springs which draw water from the bottom of the sea 1525m below.

The “taste of Shonai”, known as the food capital, is filled with famous brand ingredients. “Shonai pig”, characterized by its great taste due to the juiciness of its meat and the white, thin strips of fat. “Kandara”, a tasty winter representative of Shonai, features a body packed with freshness and rich and dense soft roe.

1984 meters above sea level, this is one of the shield volcanoes in semi-circular shape that are quite rare in the whole world. It houses Gassanjinja Shrine at the peak called “Omuro”.
Studio Sedic Shonai Outdoor Set
The sets built for movies are preserved here and are open to public.
Its five-story pagoda is known as the only one in this country built for water creatures, hence the temple is widely worshipped by the fisheries industry.
